I’m Jennie. I love to write, cook, bake, and run experiments. In fact, in was all those experiments that caused this blog to exist in the first place. I’ve organized a couple of other websites…and while they got traffic, none really kept my attention for the long run.

My wonderful husband George noticed the incessant recipe adjustments, the experimental notes on different cleaners, and my obsessive research. He suggested I start a website on that! In fact, he came up with the name. I’ve had some feedback since then that they felt the term “housewife” was too 1950s. But honestly, I love the title. And I love the fact he was so involved that he picked the title.
Plus, Homemaker Modern doesn’t have quite the same ring.

Spooky the Cat. He likes licking off of plates. And begging for taste tests. And oddly enough, likes popcorn.

There is A LOT of information out there today. In fact, they say more information than the entirety of human history before 2000 was published online in the last three years. So being a housewife in the 2010s means taking advantage of all that information. I want to share what I know, constantly learn more, and do anything I can to help out my readers.

I promise:
If I’m sharing a recipe, I’ve made it (and it was delicious!). In fact, I altered it from the original concept to make it even more delicious.
I’m talking about a topic, I’ve researched it. Exhaustively.
If you have a question, I’ll do my best to answer it. You can contact me on my “contact me” page, comment on my FB page, or comment on a post.
I’m recommending it a product, I’ve tried it and thought it was wonderful.
