Rubbing alcohol method (I also used it on the wall.) This worked well on the wall...not so much on the cupboard and floor pictured.

How NOT to Remove Scentsy Stain from Cupboards

Figuring out how to get rid of Scentsy wax stains from cupboards and from laminate floors has been the second challenge. (The first was removing Scentsy wax from a wall. See: “Removing Scentsy Wax from Textured Walls” for further details).

*Update 9/19/16: I finally did figure out how to remove the stains from cupboards. See: “How to Clean Scentsy Stains off Wooden Cupboards”

The saga continues. I should note the actual wax itself is gone from the cupboard. It is the purple stain from the wax that remains.

As the four “wall” solutions haven’t worked, we’re on to the next one.

  1. Mix 1/3 C. white vinegar and 1/2 C. water together in a small bowl. Dip folded paper towel in water. Lift out and squeeze slightly…it should be wet, but not dripping.
  2. Place paper towel over stained section of cupboard. Mine stuck, so I didn’t have to hold them, which made this process much easier. After paper towel is applied to entire area, place plastic wrap over section. Tape down edges. (Make sure to use tape that won’t hurt cupboard).
  3. Leave in place for 2 hours.
  4. Remove tape, plastic wrap, and paper towels. Wipe the area with hot water and dry.
At first I had a heart-attack. The wood’s color was changed! Oh no! I’d ruined the cupboard! How much was this going to cost!?
The next day the wood was back to normal, though, it just needed to dry. Alas…the stain remains. On to another method….
