Thanksgiving is a great time of year. Along with pumpkin pie and fabulous turkey, it is a few days with the kids before the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.
A fun event to keep them busy while you’re trying to cook is a treasure hunt. This one is for older kids. It is in riddle format and they have to fill in the blank to find the next clue. I have NOT numbered the clues. This is because there are a LOT of them….so I know you might not use them all. Mix and match; pick the ones you want! The first and last clue on the top of page 1. I’ve also included a page of blanks in case you want to fill in some of your own. Of course, while they will enjoy solving and chasing around, having a little treat at the end is always fun.
Here are some ideas:
Thanksgiving Buckeye Turkeys. Classic buckeyes masquerading as turkeys. Delicious (aren’t all buckeyes) and sure to impress.
Thanksgiving Turkey Cake Pops. Carrot cake and luscious cinnamon cream cheese frosting decorated as fabulous turkeys.
All of the pages below are available as PDF. In addition, if you click on the individual image, a larger version will open in a new window. You can save the file as a jpg or png from there -or- print directly.
Page 1 has the first and last clues! So this page is a “must print” unless you are writing your own clues.
Page 2. As with all the clues, the answers are typed underneath the clue. (Just in case one my riddles isn’t clear)!
Page 3.
Blanks. These are ones where you can write your own clues or riddles. The rest are fairly generic- aka, items you could find in most households. The blanks are for personal touches- a favorite book that you know the title to, a favorite shirt, etc.
